In 2008 in the framework connected with improving the transparency of microfinance sector of Tajikistan AMFOT jointly with Microfinance Information Exchange (Mix), started the realization of project “Benchmarking of Tajik MFO”.
The aim of the project “Benchmarking of Tajik MFO” is to improve the transparency of separate MFO and microfinance sector of Tajikistan. With its help Tajik MFO will be able to generate a positive image in the world, to compare themselves with other representatives of the microfinance industry, and as a result significantly increase its investment climate for donors and investors.
MIX Market ™ is a global, web-based, microfinance information platform. It provides information to sector actors and the public at large on microfinance institutions (MFIs) worldwide, public and private funds that invest in microfinance, MFI networks, raters/external evaluators, advisory firms, and governmental and regulatory agencies. MIX Market seeks to develop a transparent information market to link MFIs worldwide with Investors and Donors and promote greater investment and information flows. MIX Market currently provides data on over 1800 MFIs, over 100 investors and almost 200 partners.
Attendance at this project will allow the Tajik MFO independently from their legal form and development level conduct comparative analysis of their activity with others. The organization which provides its data will be included to the MixMarket database, depend on provided information the MFO will get a transparency point (diamonds). Beside that organizations attending this project will be included to world microfinance development study. Today the number of MFO AMFOT members at the MixMarket are 44 organizations. The dark blue colomn is the number of registered MFO at the Mix and the sky blue colomn is the number of MFO provided the financial reports to the Mix.
